Remus Redux explores a dystopian civilization fractured into three distinct strata, each reflecting a different societal condition. The lower strata, a desolate and crumbling underworld, symbolizes the abandoned remnants of a once-thriving foundation. The mid strata thrives on hyper-consumerism, with propaganda manipulating the middle class into complacency. Towering above is the upper strata (as shown in the video clip above), a gleaming paradise of "techno-baroque" opulence where the wealthy reside in ever-expanding structures, elevating themselves above the chaos below. The film critiques class disparity, ambition, and the fragile balance of civilization.
