The familiar yet unfamiliar nature of these Fragmented Relics reflects a key aspect of our design process. Using 3D scanning, we capture the essence of structures or objects, allowing them to influence our designs directly or indirectly. Unlike human imagination, limited in processing large data, 3D scanning manages complex datasets, enabling broader perspectives and deeper exploration of a place’s layered nature. Objects such as sculptures and architectural details are scanned, combined, multiplied, or subtracted to create outcomes that feel both novel and familiar.
